It’s corn! A big lump of knobs. It has the JUICE.
Whether you’re on TikTok or not, you’ve probably seen the viral video of that little kid expressing his love for corn. Well we like our corn with cheese, and lots of it. If you’re out drinking in Koreatown, you’re probably ordering cheese corn at some point, and lucky for you, this delicacy is found at most dive bars and KBBQ spots in the area.
Typically served with sweet corn and mozzarella cheese on a sizzling skillet, corn cheese is a perfect example of anju, or Korean food that’s meant to be consumed with alcohol – so have a seat, take your lactaid pill if needed, order a pitcher of beer or bottle of soju, and enjoy all the cheese pulls at any of the spots listed below.

If you eat Korean BBQ often, you probably already know this spot. Baekjeong is the Korean word for “butcher,” but they definitely don’t butcher their cheese corn here. Enjoy premium meats with unlimited refills of steamed egg and cheese corn, all on the same grill for your eating pleasure.

4 words: Hot Cheeto Cheese Corn. The crunch from the crushed hot cheeto topping and gooeyness of the mozzarella cheese merge to create the perfect bite served at this restaurant/tavern located inside Chapman Plaza.

At first glance, this Korean restaurant and bar tucked in a shopping center won’t seem like much, but step inside and you’ll immediately love the vibe with the Boiling Crab-like writings on the walls and huge glowing money tree centerpiece. Alongside skewers, fried chicken, spicy rice cakes, they’re also serving up some of the best corn cheese in the neighborhood.
