Vegan Korean BBQ – Las Vegas

Yes, you read that right, this Las Vegas Korean BBQ brand just launched their Vegan AYCE menu.

In the world of Korean BBQ (K-bbq), a topic that often sparks debate is a vegetarian option at an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) setup. K-bbq is known for its diverse selection of beef, pork and chicken allowing diners to grill their meats right at the table. However, as Korean BBQ gained its popularity many K-bbq restaurants were stuck in a dilemma of how to accommodate vegetarians in a meat-centric setting. While some places offer mushrooms and grillable vegetables, finding a restaurant with a comprehensive vegetarian menu remains a rarity, until now.

This renowned Las Vegas establishment, Master Kim’s Korean BBQ, is one of the locals’ favorite AYCE K-bbq spots. They proudly serve high quality Certified Angus Beef in their meat selections with mouth-watering side dishes like corn cheese, tofu soup and cold noodles. They knew they wanted to extend this outstanding experience to all tastes– so they put their ideas to reality that no other K-bbq restaurant has ever done before– a vegetarian & vegan AYCE menu.

They have a list of “beef” and “chicken” options along with marinated tofu and marinated eggplant grill options. That is not all, vegetarian customers can now enjoy the popular K-bbq side dish, corn cheese made with plant-based cheese and Kewpie Mayo. Although the menu is vegetarian friendly, it is not gluten free.

The thoughtfully curated menu really comes alive when you get to experience it firsthand. I had the opportunity to try it, and if no one had mentioned it was the vegetarian menu, I wouldn’t have noticed the difference. From the side dishes that come out to the grilling of each item. With the rice wraps, sauces and vegetables, I crafted my own “ssam” just as I would at a K-bbq and it remarkably resembled its meaty counterpart.

All the meat substitutes can be enjoyed without grilling, but Master Kim’s is committed to providing an immersive K-bbq experience for its customers who choose the vegetarian and vegan menu. They’ve found that a little charring on the grill enhances the flavors. The beauty of K-bbq is in sharing uncooked meat in small portions and grilling it at the table while indulging in side dishes and drinks with your group. Now, vegetarian and vegan diners can partake in this unique experience. It’s recommended that the vegetarian and vegan menu be grilled first to ensure meat residue isn’t left on the grill.

The vegetarian & vegan menu is offered at both Master Kim’s Korean BBQ restaurants.
